Fight 11 – Main Event

Danny Mayfield vs. Cody Bruce

The main event of the evening lived up to they hype.  Cody Bruce came out early with a take down.  However, it was Danny Mayfield with the punishing punches from full guard.  Bruce worked his way to side control and pounded Mayfield with elbows.  Then a mysterious referee stoppage stood both fighters up.  The crowd was loud and could have been a factor.  Bruce ended round 1 with some heavy ground and pound from full mount.  The bell saved Mayfield; 5 more seconds and the fight may have been over there.

 

Bruce began round 2 with a quick shoot, as Mayfield pulled half guard.  Bruce quickly gained full mount again and finished Mayfield with an impressive Guillotine Choke.  Bruce was awarded the Submission of the Night.

Fight 10

Elliott Broten vs. James Davis

Fight 10 featured the second fighter of the night from the Scientific Street Fighting camp, Elliott Broten. His opponent, James Davis, appeared over matched as Broten impressively took him down early and gained full mount.  Broten unloaded a flurry of strikes and ended the fight early.  It was an impressive showing for the SSF camp.

 

Winner: Elliott Broten by TKO in the 1st Round

Fight 9

Gary Johnson vs. Ryan Gream

Gary Johnson, the first fighter from Scientific Street Fighting, was as impressive as Broten, if not more.  Johnson landed some hard kicks early on his opponent Ryan Gream.  The kicks set up a powerful punch to the head for a very quick knockout win.  The KO impressed the judges enough to award Johnson the Knockout of the Night.

Fight 8

Austin Linton vs. Matthew Gibson

Austin Linton came out early with two take downs.  Linton had a full mount reversed by Matthew Gibson.  Gibson let go some big hammer fists, but let himself open.  Linton finished the fight from the bottom by Triangle Choke.

Fight 7

Cory Compton vs. Paul Bruens

Fight 7 was a grueling Heavy Weight battle that went all 3 rounds, finishing with Fight of the Night honors.  Compton dominated Bruens most of the fight.  He was able to control most of the fight on the ground.  Bruens was saved by the bell at the end of round 1 as Compton had a deep Guillotine Choke.  Compton continued with excellent take down defense and punishing knees to the kidneys to win by unanimous decision.

 

Winner: Cory Compton by Unanimous Decision

Fight 6

Dalton Million vs. Anthony Carter (Grapple)

This fight was a best out of three submissions match.  Dalton Million was quick and confident with his grappling and quickly was able to get two arm bars to win the match.

Fight 5

Brandon Cothern vs. Patrick Douglas

Cothern came out throwing haymakers early.  He took Douglas down with big knee and tacked on some nice ground and pound.  Cothern finished the fight with a Guillotine Choke.

Winner: Chase Wathen by Tap Out due to Triangle Choke in the 1st Round
